Mark D. Cooks has proudly called Duncanville home for over eighteen years. He has served for the betterment of our city in many ways through city boards, community organizations, and supporting local non-profits. During his time representing District 4 on the Duncanville City Council and serving as Mayor Pro-Tem, Mark worked with residents, city staff, stakeholders, community organizations, and businesses to successfully implement initiatives on economic development, public safety, lowering taxes, and community engagement & inclusion.
Mark serves as Board Member and Secretary for Daniels Meadow Farms Homeowners Association, is the Board Member/Vice President at Dallas Black Dance Theater, and was appointed to the 2023 Duncanville ISD Bond Committee. Mark is a current Dallas Arboretum Finance Committee Member and serves on the Best Southwest Workforce and Economic Development Committee. He has been involved with the Citizens on Patrol, served as a Commissioner on the Duncanville Board of Adjustments, was the former president of the Duncanville Economic Development Board, and chaired the City of Duncanville Audit Committee.
Professionally, Mark has 40 years of experience in the financial service industry. He worked for 25 years with Wells Fargo Bank before retiring as a Senior Vice President. He is now the Vice President/Commercial Loan Officer and Community Leader responsible for the Southern Dallas market at Frost Bank.
A native of Dallas, along with his three older sisters, Mark is a lifelong Texan. He is a proud father of two, grandfather of four, and long-standing member of Concord Baptist Church. When he is not doing something to help improve the community, Mark enjoys cycling, hiking, and a friendly round of golf.
